The following writing samples represent a range of policy analysis, case study evaluation, and research completed during my undergraduate studies in Urban Ecology at the University of Utah. These works demonstrate my ability to critically assess urban development projects, advocate for environmental justice, and evaluate land use policy through the lens of sustainability, equity, and community impact. Topics include a detailed review of “The Point” state-led redevelopment project, a policy memo proposing adaptive reuse of a historic structure to address housing shortages, and an in-depth exploration of uranium mining’s long-term consequences in rural Utah. Additional case studies analyze the implementation of the Community Renewable Energy Act and a variance request in Park City, each addressing complex regulatory, environmental, and social justice considerations. Collectively, these samples showcase my research skills, policy literacy, and commitment to inclusive, forward-thinking urban planning.
